    HISTORY IN YOUR HANDS!
    Congress once again demonstrated their imperfection when they authorized that this new design 1883 be released without the word, "CENTS". The approximate size of America's -Dollar Gold Piece, they were almost instantly Gold-Plated and passed as "the new U.S. FIVE-DOLLAR GOLD COIN". That same year, realizing their oversight, Congress stopped production and ordered that the word, "CENTS", be added to the coin.
