Description
****This is an excellent collection of Antarctic memorabilia, obtained from a researcher by the name of David Bresnahan. We obtained this collection from him directly, from his residence in the Colorado Springs area. This collection has many postal covers, from the US, the Soviet Union, as well as France and Canada. There are a few commemorative stamp sets in here as well, with postcards and other photographs. In this lot are a handful of challenge coins, which he had collected from United States Officers of the Navy and Air Force, which he kept as part of his collection. The real gem here is in the form of two five dollar notes from New Zealand, both of which are signed by "Ed Hillary" better known as Sir Edmund Hillary. Sir Edmund is credited with being one of the first climbers to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, the tallest peak in the world. It is very fitting that he signed his name on two separate New Zealand notes, using a black sharpie. Overall, this is an excellent group for those interested in all things Antarctica, with the added bonus of two signatures from a true legend......................See Images****
