Cheyenne Beadwork Belt - Vintage and Beautiful!

Proudly presented today is this beautiful and vintage example of Plains Indian beadwork, in the form of ornately beaded belt. It is of
Cheyenne
origin, and is 28 inches long and 1 and 3/4 inches across. i am guessing that a belt of this length was meant for a child. The decoration consists of diamonds, flanked by hexagons.
The
workmanship
is just incredible. It dates from the 1960's
and is in very good condition, without any loose beads. It looks to me to be mounted on some kind of commercial leather, either kid or calf. It's extremely soft. It is part of a collection of a very well-known and highly respected Native American teacher,
lecturer
and curator, and it is an honor to assist her in making part of her vast collection available to you.
