    Description

    For sale is a
    stunning
Antique Southern Plains (Mescalero Apache/ Cheyenne) Beaded Whetstone Case, 19th C.
The case is made of native tanned hide and the lid of parfleche/rawhide. The lid cannot be opened completely. The case is fully beaded and has in my opinion characteristics of Mescalero Apache/ Kiowa cases, but the design and colors seem Cheyenne. The design is wonderful, with beads
    sinew sewn
in bead colors white, pea green, translucent navy, rose-white-heart, and a few butterscotch. A big blue bead is on the carrying string.
Two pendants are lost, as visible in the pictures.
    This beautiful case itself m
    easures circa 4 1/2" x 2".
Please take a good look at the pictures or ask questions before you bid.
